In the latest poetry anthology by Peepal Tree Press, Filigree (2018), Michael was selected by Nii AyiKwei Parkes and Kadija Sesay as one of the fresh young voices to emerge from the contemporary Black British poetry scene. His first poetry collection, i am not myself, was published by Sunesis Ministries Ltd and featured in the Willesden Library celebration of local authors on National Libraries Day 2016, officiated by writer and broadcaster Lindsay Johns. He has performed poems from both Filigree and i am not myself at the Barbican Library in London and Kings College London. Michael is an Illustrator and art teacher who has a BA in Animation and a Masters in English Literature.
