Last Lap
The odometer has finally reached zero mph;
the love of his life is out in the shed,
Da’s thinking of days & nights spent gallivanting
with a tank full of gas and torque in his lead.

She recently received 2nd prize for a collection of poetry entitled All Oppression is Connected in the 23rd Frank Collymore Literary Endowment Awards in her native Barbados.
